What they want in a Speaker, who it might be, and why the messiness of democracy isn't a bad thing at all. The Democrats have fetishized January 6th and don't care about the long-term damage that will ensue. California is attacking the free speech of doctors and Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott wants to blame everyone except the criminals for the latest mass shooting.
As this Episode is being recorded, the US House of Representatives is meeting to once again try and elect a new speaker--but will they? Andrew and Jerry talk about the race, what they want in a new Speaker, who they are looking at. But more importantly, is this really "chaos" - and if so, is that necessarily a bad thing? Democracy is necessarily messy, and Andrew & Jerry don't care how other nations view the United States. The Democrats are cravenly fetishizing the January 6th Capitol riots, and this doesn't serve the US well in the long term. 2023 is going to be the year of unintended consequences, and one example is California's efforts to police the speech of doctors vis a vis Covid19. More young people were shot in Baltimore this week, and everyone is looking in the wrong direction as to why this occurred. Mayor Brandon Scott wants to blame everyone BUT the shooters for the crime, and nobody seems to be asking the right questions. Plus, pot was legalized for recreational use in New York and serious questions are being raised about the long-term impacts of a totally-legalized weed society.
